About New River Students

Our student ministry is designed to give middle school and high school students a place to connect with God and others, ask faith questions, and build a strong foundation on what God’s Word says, so they can go out into the world and transform it in Jesus’ name.

What to Expect

  • NRS meets most every Sunday night during the school year at the gray building and the doors open at 5:00pm. When students arrive, we ask that they check-in, and then they are free to hang out inside or outside the building until service gets started with some food, games, and a time to build relationships. After some fellowship time, everyone gathers in the auditorium for our large group time which consists of a Biblical sermon to encourage and challenge our students and corporate worship. After this, students will head to their Growth Groups (split up by grade and gender) to discuss guided questions with their adult leaders based on the message, with the goal of sparking natural biblical discussion and building relationships amongst their peers. Students are dismissed from their Growth Groups with dismissal/pick-up being at 7:30pm.

  • NRS provides food every Sunday night.

  • Doors open at 5:00pm. Dismissal/Pick up is 7:30pm.

  • We have several events throughout the year and attend Crossroads Summer Camp every year. Stay tuned our events page and social media for announcements and registrations.

Serve in NRS

Those who serve in NRS love to use their gifts and talents to create an environment where students can experience Christ in a meaningful way. Our NRS team is reaching into the lives of their students with the life-giving message of the Gospel in a way that is safe, fun, engaging, and easy to understand.

If you are interested in pouring into the lives of 6th-12th graders by serving in NRS, we invite you to fill out a Serve Team Interest Form. Once we receive your form, we will be in touch shortly. All Serve Team members at New River Church must complete an application and background check.
