New River Ladies-Evening Study- 1-3 John, Philemon, God's Love Alive in You

Study: 1-3 John, Philemon, & God’s Love Alive in You by Kay Arthur/David Lawson

Leaders: Kathy Hall and Christy Rice

Tucked waaay back at the end of the New Testament are several ‘small’ books – 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Philemon. Most of us might have heard of them or even read a few verses here and there but not actually studied to see what it is God has to say in these short letters. Using a modified inductive approach, we will dig into the Scriptures and ask questions to determine what is being said, what it means, what is being taught about God, how knowing a specific aspect of God’s character can change our view of ourselves, and what it is we are to do with what we have learned. Using only the Bible as our primary source, let’s start learning to comprehend, interpret and rightly apply God’s Word. And have a great time doing it! Homework time, about 2-2.5 hours per week

Study: The Book of Ephesians- J.D. Greear (Right Now Media Study)

Leaders: Linda Gibbons & Stephanie Lewin

Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world.

This Early Bird session meets Tuesday mornings from 7:00 am – 8:15 am. Homework will consist of reading through scriptures, watching a short video using Right Now Media (provided) and answering questions. Homework typically lasts between 45 minutes to 1 hour per week.

No childcare is provided for the early bird study. If you have children, we encourage you to attend the morning study (9:30-11:30 am) or evening study (6:30-8:00 pm) where childcare is provided.
